Born from a spark of spontaneity and pure creative will, this Butterfly Wild Card print is the reference photo I staged for my Battle of the Brushes 2025 competition piece.

As the event’s Wild Card contestant, I embraced unpredictability with a painting that celebrated transformation, passion, and manifestation—using a monarch butterfly as the central symbol of becoming. Since no photo existed that captured the exact lighting I envisioned, I built it from scratch, collaborating with model Kayla Mackes and fire artist Chris Knight to conjure this surreal image.

 It’s more than a photo—it’s a symbol of creative power, magical realism, and the art of manifesting the unexpected.
